Content standards

Good questions.
Honest expectations.

Our questions use the skills and presentation of the relevant exam. They are independently written practice, not official past-paper questions or material endorsed by an exam board.

Board by board

OCR and Edexcel A-level, and AQA and Edexcel GCSE Higher, have separate courses and specification references. Each course links to its official specification and past papers. Some appropriate core problems are shared between courses.

How hard is hard?

Core builds a method; stretch combines methods; challenge asks for less familiar reasoning. These are editorial labels, not certified grades. A challenge question does not establish a Grade 9, A*, TMUA 7 or Olympiad medal standard.

What we check

Automated checks cover question IDs, answer formats, mathematical rendering and mark totals. Selected problems also receive independent mathematical checks. Full teacher moderation and difficulty testing with students are still in progress.

Written GCSE/A-level work and Olympiad proofs need self or teacher review. An automatic final-answer check does not mark the entire argument.

Help improve the bank

Every question has a reference and a report link. Include that reference, the issue and your suggested correction. Avoid including anyone’s personal information in a report.

Where AI feedback is available, treat it as additional guidance and check it against the worked solution. It can make mathematical mistakes. Torus Maths practice estimates are not official admissions-test score predictions.
